Alcohol Addiction
Alcohol addiction is a physical dependency on alcohol that occurs gradually as drinking alcohol alters the balance of some chemicals in your brain, such as gamma-amino butyric acid which inhibits impulsiveness, and glutamate which excites the nervous system. Alcohol also raises the levels of dopamine in the brain which is associated with the pleasurable aspects of drinking alcohol. Excessive, long-term drinking can deplete or increase the levels of some of these chemicals causing your body to crave alcohol to restore good feelings or to avoid negative feelings.
Excessive alcohol can lead to health problems including:
• depression
• liver cirrhosis
• heart failure
• damage to the brain and nervous system
Associated with alcohol dependency is the damage to relationships, finances, employment, and problems with the law.
Signs of alcohol dependency or addiction:
• an uncontrollable urge to drink alcohol
• consuming more alcohol to obtain the same results
• withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, sweating, and anxiety when
you reduce or stop drinking
• incur black-outs or memory loss
• hide your drinking from others
• friends and family members are worried about your drinking
• feel uncomfortable where alcohol is not served
Quit By Laser Stop Drinking Program
Our QUIT BY LASER centers have already helped thousands of people fight their unhealthy addiction to drinking. The alcohol addiction treatment program is a series of three 25-minute sessions that are scheduled 1-2 weeks apart.
The cold laser beam is applied to various points on your body (mostly ears, face, hands and wrists) to generate the release of endorphins into the bloodstream which help balance certain chemicals in the brain that control the cravings for alcohol.
This procedure will eliminate the physical craving for alcohol, reduce alcohol withdrawal symptoms, and provide a feeling of well-being and emotional balance.
The program cost:
$495.00 for three treatments per client
$445.00 each for three treatments for two or more clients
